Dennis Publishing launches Monkey Mobile with Player X and Mobile IQ

Monkey Mobile

Player X, Mobile IQ and Dennis Publishing have launched Monkey Mobile, the mobile version of Monkey Mag.com, the UK’s fastest growing digital publication.

Using Mobile IQs Fabric™ platform, Player X and Dennis Publishing have launched a D2C magazine designed for UK mobile users that will replicate all the favourite features of the successful online magazine.

Supported by an integrated Dennis Publishing marketing campaign, Player X will publish and distribute Monkey Mobile on all major UK operators.

The success of Monkey’s e-mag has been well documented: with an ABCe of 271,667 copies per week (July-Dec 2007). It dominates the lads’ magazine market place and is the fastest growing men’s magazine in the world. Its unique formula delivers a hugely attractive format and audience to advertisers.

• The average reader is 28 and spends 45 minutes a week reading Monkey

• More than two-thirds of Monkey's readers do not read any other men's magazine

• Click-through rates are up to 275% higher than traditional digital advertising

“Working with Player X and Mobile IQ has enabled us to quickly and painlessly produce a mobile version of our successful Monkey magazine in a format we know will be as popular with our readers as it will with advertisers”, said Andrew Nicholls of Dennis Publishing

“‘Monkey is one of the fastest growing digital entertainment brands in the market today. Player X is delighted to be partnering with Dennis Publishing in optimizing the brand for mobile and providing an innovative and added value experience to the mass of Monkey subscribers,” said Tony Pearce, Player X CEO.

The announcement follows the recent rebranding of Player X into two operating divisions, Player X Distribution and Studio X. The Monkey distribution deal follows Studio X’s recent acquisition of two Sony PlayStation titles for mobile, the first time SCEE has allowed its console content to be licensed to a third party.
