Video Deployment Technician

Role
The Video Deployment Technician is responsible for executing content editing assignments, and fulfilling deployment orders – encoding and delivering video content to operator platforms. Products requiring editing include feature films and television shows. The Video Deployment Technician is an integral part of producing high quality mobile video products and assures smooth delivery of content to carriers worldwide.
Responsible for developing, acquiring, repurposing video content for the mobile market and fulfilling video distribution orders.
Key areas of responsibility include
• Timely and successful uploading of video, music and image content onto networks’ various content delivery platforms.
• Preparing video content orders.
• Editing and cutting innovative and entertaining mobile video clips from source material.
• Resizing and reformatting various image and sound files.
• Generating content submission forms for each network delivery.
• Maximise encoding and uploading efficiency.
• Maintain and update content catalogue metadata
• QC and Ingestion of new content deliveries
Candidate Requirements
Essential
• Excellent command of English, both written and Verbal.
• Proficiency in non-linear image, video and audio editing programs such as Photoshop, Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Soundforge
• Familiarity with video encoding processes (file formats, codecs…)
• Excellent command of Microsoft Office package, knowledge of CMS and FTP systems
• Video encoding or video editing experience in either mobile, TV, DVD or film.
• Pro active, energetic and organised
• Excellent time management and attention to detail
• Ability to meet deadlines without compromising on quality
Desirable
• Mobile phone technology awareness / understanding
• In-depth knowledge of Photoshop
• Familiar with After Effects and Fireworks
• Working knowledge of industry standard encoding software. Familiar with XML
• Ideally a background in either new media and/or mobile entertainment markets
• Passion for short form video content.
• A keen interest in Film and TV
